Storyboarding

In the process of creating a video, film, animation, etc., one of the key steps is storyboarding. Think of it as a visual script that gives the cameraman a map of the shots necessary to tell the story. This week we introduced the idea of the storyboard, and began adapting our scripts to visual language, translating the stories we have into 2-dimensional space.

Fundred Dollar Bills, Ya'll!

Today in class we participated in The Fundred Dollar Bill Project (click the link for more information). Mel Chin, an internationally recognized artist, created this project to help remove the lead from the water supply in New Orleans. By asking for collaboration from students, teachers, artists, virtually anyone, the goal of the project is to collect 3,000,000 Fundreds, which he hopes to trade in for the estimated $300,000,000 it will take to clean up all the water in New Orleans. Here are some examples of our efforts today:

Stop Motion

Our aspiration for this semester is to create stop motion videos, using the characters we have been working on, as well as scripts the students are penning even now.

Here is an example of a stop motion video:

Script Writing

Students were divided into groups and began brainstorming ideas for their script. They will use this script to create their stop-motion videos using the Cubeecraft characters they have created already.
